From regenerating forests to crafting unforgettable stays, Uganda Jungle Lodges blends comfort, culture, and conservation—inviting you to explore Uganda’s most inspiring destinations.
Uganda Jungle Lodges Ltd was incorporated in August 2011 as the investment arm of Destination Jungle Ltd, with a vision to redefine tourism in Uganda. Our mission was clear from the start: to create eco-friendly, culturally rich, and environmentally responsible tourist accommodations in unique and often overlooked destinations across the country.
We saw an opportunity to go beyond conventional safari circuits—exploring untouched areas, nurturing natural habitats, and offering visitors the rare chance to connect deeply with Uganda’s wild heart.

We are a hospitality enterprise, that provides all travelers the experiences of eco-lodges in beautiful natural places in Uganda and which we contribute to improve on and regenerate. Our strategy is to think forward and ahead when designing, building and creating our lodges and services. We intend to set the framework to influence the hospitality industry’s perceptions of how the eco-lodge of future will look like.

By the Numbers
Our journey in eco-tourism, conservation, and hospitality
We are committed to offering guests a space where nature, culture, and comfort coexist in perfect harmony.
Our story began along the River Ntungwe in Kameme Village, right on the edge of Queen Elizabeth National Park’s Ishasha Sector. When we first discovered this piece of land, it was used for maize farming—but we envisioned a space where nature could thrive again. We allowed the riparian forest and grasslands to regenerate, bringing back native vegetation and creating a safe haven for wildlife.
The process wasn’t without challenges. The constantly shifting river course demanded creative planning and construction. But in 2014, Ishasha Jungle Lodge opened its doors—a sanctuary of comfort and wilderness, offering guests close encounters with the area’s famed tree-climbing lions and a landscape of vast savannah and lush floodplains.
In 2018, we took another bold step with the creation of Bugoma Jungle Lodge—a project rooted in conservation from the very beginning. Before laying a single foundation, we launched the Bugoma Conservation Project in partnership with the Association for Conservation of Bugoma Forest (ACBF).
Our goal was to protect Bugoma Forest, restore degraded land, and bring sustainable tourism to the area. The lodge now serves as a gateway to unique eco-experiences such as Uganda Mangabey trekking, birding, and primate watching. Surrounded by an active reforestation zone alive with wildlife, Bugoma Jungle Lodge stands as proof that tourism can be a powerful force for environmental restoration and community growth.
